Pigmentation
Worried about pigmentation? You're not alone. Research demonstrates that skin discolouration can add years to our perceived age. Individuals who have even skin tone are judged to be more attractive, healthier and younger in age. Uneven skin tone can result from cumulative UV damage, which leads to freckles, moles and age spots. The more UV damage, the greater the problem. Thankfully, UV-related skin damage can be prevented and, to some extent, past damage can be corrected. Pigmentation can also be caused by hormones (eg melasma) and skin trauma (eg post inflammatory hyperpigmentation).
Pigmentation can be treated in a number of ways, including topical lightening products, skin needling, peels and laser. All treatments must be combined with strict UV protection in order to maximise effectiveness.
Treatments that we offer for skin pigmentation include:
- topical lightening products (including Brite LiteTM, Priority B serum, Enlighten depigmenting serum, Vanish depigmenting serum, Exfol-X)
- skin needling with the Dermapen3
- combined with sunscreens - such as UberZinc, UberZinc Body and Actinica SPF50+ Lotion
